Somebody mentioned have a spin on filter for their trans

I can't remember which post it was in, but can I see some pics? Also, who makes the best kit for this?

I have one, right after the fluid exists the transmission, which is not the ideal location ( it is supposed to be inline right before the cooled ATF goes back into the transmission), but I am a maverick at heart.

If you can wait till the end of the month, I'll post some pics of what is inside the filter (hopefully not much) after being on there for 23,000 miles. When I pulled my pan last year, I found no metal shavings in the pan so maybe the Magnefine is doing its job. For $16, why not? 3/8 barb BTW.

This one installed is for a power steering pump, but the idea is the same:

Probably me. I used a B&M kit. You have to remove all the hard lines and use AN fittings to make it work. I used Summit Twist-Tie fittings, which work great and are super easy to install. Buy more 45°, 90° and straight fittings than you think you'll need; it's very easy to return stuff to Summit. An M14x-6AN adapter is what you need to hook into the actual trans input and output fittings. Figure <$300 total for all hoses, fittings, filter relocation kit and a good size B&M oil cooler.

There's an M10 threaded hole in the frame in the perfect spot to mount the filter adapter. Just behind the engine mount. Loctite the bolt, and/or use a lock washer.

Mine is plumbed in to filter right after the fluid exits the trans, and before it goes to the cooler. The B&M adapter block also had 4 1/2' NPT bungs, so it's very easy to add a temp sender here if you want to add a good temp gauge.

The Fram was temporary. I replaced it with a Purolator Pureone shortly after.

Midget's setup is the correct one to follow, also search under fellow poster Fogrunner for his setup.

Next time I'll try reading the OP's entire thread first before posting.....

Awesome, thanks guys. Midget, your setup looks legit-like it was never 'not there', if that makes any sense. I'm under the assumption that plumbing this and a external trans cooler would simply entail installing the parts, filling the reservoir, and running the engine. Is this correct? Or is it a little more in depth than that?
