This is on a 99 4runner 4wd. I just installed a 2.5" spacer on the front with new strut shocks, rear i put on 890 coils with new shocks. The alignment was done and all within factory spec. The tires were rotated and balanced, balance was 0.0 on all. I drove it for a couple of days on city roads (max 40 miles per hour) with no issues. Drive was great no vibrations, steering tight. I took it onto the highway today and I am getting a vibration in my feet when I hit 60 miles per hour. I do not feel it in the steering wheel or in the seat. Only in my feet on the firewall and pedals. I am going to check the driveshaft u-joints and grease them tomorrow. Althought the rear driveshaft angle is fine. I did not put in the diff drop. I have done several of the 2.5" spacer kits on Tacoma's (with no vibration issues) but never on a 4runner. This is my wife's vehicle and she is going to be driving 8 hours to visit her parents this coming weekend. I would like to get this fixed. Anybody have any idea what the vibration is??

wierd... does it only happen at 60 mph? I don't know much about vibrations, but i know that improperly balanced tires will cause vibrations in the steering wheel only at specific speeds. But you feel it through the steering wheel... check your u-joints and drive shaft stuff and see if that helps.

What happens if you push 70 or 75? does it get worse or continue the same?

I will try and help as I just overcame this problem with my '99 4runner. First of all buy a diff drop kit. Some people have no problems with CV angles but, I sure did and I am now told that '99 4runners came with stiffer and thus taller springs. I bought the 3/4 in. diff drop kit from ALL PRO but I would recommend going with another brand because you will need to go down at least a full inch. I simply stacked some washers underneath my spacers to drop it the extra (I needed to go down and inch and a quarter) as my CV joints still vibrated after the 3/4 in. drop. This is an easy and inexpensive ($30-40 with shipping) way to at least rule out extreme CV angles. And if nothing else at least your CV joints will be feeling better and lasting longer due to closer to stock angles, but I think this will be you ticket as nothing else worker for me either.

Vibration is only from 60 - 70 any other speed and it is not there or I can't feel it. I am going to check the balancing and the u-joints tonight. I will probably get the diff drop too.

I have always heard that spacer lifts themselves cause vibration issues at highway speeds. I got friends that have spacer lifts on their vehicles and they complain of the same issue.

Let us know what you discover. Wish I could be of more help though...
