sensitive 02 sensors??

how sensitive are 02 sensors?? how long do they last typicaly?

As some of you know I am having a new tranny put in. Well, they pulled the exhaust to drop the tranny. Once they got it all put back together, they took it for a drive.

Well, then the check engine light comes on. He said its cuz they must have messed up the 02 sensors. They are going to replace them.

Does this seem right??

I can't think of why that might happen but if the code says "sensor out of spec" then replace it.

Did the code come up as an O2 related code? A Check engn. Lt. can be set by the trans. also, usually only if a major prob. exists though. Hopefully for the dealer's sake they back probed the O2 sensors to see if they were switching normally. If they were and the computer was recieving the info from the O2, then that aint it.

well, they are replacing the 02 sensors either way.... hopefully the light will stay off now... cuz it has taken forever to try to get this stupid "knock" fixed......... anyways, i am sure the dealership pulled the code, so I should be good to go.... we will see..... itll be done tomorrow... (or so they say... haha) but i will pick it up Sun.
