Salvation in a bottle
I'm trying to come up with catchy titles for my threads.
I don't offer salvation in a bottle, but I'm looking for it. I have a 22RE that is smoking a lot. White smoke (burning oil) coming from the tailpipe even after it warms up. At some point I will probably swap out the motor, but for now I'm looking for something I can add to help out the problem, preferably something cheap that comes in a bottle and can be purchased at the local auto parts store. I can just keep adding oil and the thing will probably give me another 100k miles or more, but the smell is giving me a headache. Anybody ever use any of the miracle cures that seemed like they actually worked. I'm thinking about stuff like Restore, Rislone, Marvels.... I would much rather spend ten bucks and dump something into my oil so I can go wheelin rather than yanking the motor. Any help?

I have used Hiltons Hypelube before. Like a quart of honey....nice and thick.
Other note.....You interested in totally stock early 70's type landcruiser? I'll see if I can get pix.

I've read all the threads I can find and finally ordered a bottle of Auto RX yesterday. Mine doesn't smoke, but with 207K on the 3.0, I figured I probably have some sort of sludge buildup in the crankcase.

Do a search here...several of the guys have used it.

You might want to go back to the tailpipe and take a sniff,
I was always under the impression of:
Blue smoke is burning oil,
White is from antifreeze (head gasket)
Black is from burning too rich
Does it smell like burning oil or is it a sweet smell?
