S/C and 7th injector install trouble codes HELP!!!
Hi guys, i have a serious problem for all you supercharged/7th injector people (sorry gadget, but I had to keep my warranty). Here is the problem:
I have been running a supercharger (my install) on my 2001 4runner (62K on it) for the last six weeks with no problems. This past weekend, I added the 7th injector. The install went really smooth, but when I started the truck, i had lost my temperature gauge. I took it to the dealer two days later and they found a broken wire right next to the firewall, they repaired it, and all seemed fine. However, two days later, i got a check engine light. here are the codes:
P0340 - camshaft position sensor
P1300 - igniter circuit malfunction
The truck still runs strong, no knocking, no stalling. do you guys think still is because of the supercharger, 7th injector, or are these just things that could have happened anyways?? as is, i have already paid $180 just for the diagnostics.

Hi Paul; (I got your pm!)
My gut feel is that there's something amiss in the wiring between the 7th injector piggyback and the ECU. Both of those codes would come from circuits that I suspect the piggyback will be tapping into. You might wanna make sure that the harness connectors are good and tight.
Did you do the install on the 7th?
What happens if you take the piggyback out of the loop and clear the codes? I'd bet that they stay gone.
Bummer on the diag fees... ouch.

i'll try that tonight after work.....however, i let the dealership go through their whole diagnosis flow chart, and they seem to think it is a bad cam sensor-- which would be under warranty. however, i don't really want them in my engine unless they have to be-- call me untrusting. anyways, a guy at TRD named Bob, seemed to think it night have something to do with the power wire for the TRD ecu.

OK, so here is what I found out:
Do not use a wire tap or any type of plastic splice-in for that power wire on the 7th injector. Just take the time to solder it. If you get codes like the ones i had, a loose power wire for the TRD ecu is probably the culprit.
Codes are reset and she is running stronger than ever. thanks again midiwall for your suggestions.
