RPM's suddenly fine?

I let my truck sit for 3 days. Drove it to the dealership and it acted up the whole way there. Drove it around with a mechanic and didn't do squat. They drove it and it didn't do anything. I picked it up and barely made it to the gas station because I was pretty much running on fumes. I put in two gallons of premuim because thats all I could get. the next day I filled up on premium. I've been 40 miles with no acting up.....strange?!?!

low fuel condition will sometimes cause that as the remaining fuel sloshes around in the tank and air gets into the fuel lines.

Nah it will do it anytime.....

I used to run it ONLY on premium for months....then I suddenly went down to regular but it ran fine for a little bit. Do you think this is why?

your guess is as good as mine on this one. ive run out of fuel once and it did pretty much what you described. if it does it all the time, maybe check out the fuel pump to make certain it is doing its thing. good luck.

When you are that low in the tank it and the fuel is sloshing around in the tank it also stirs up all the dirt and junk that is in the tank and alot of that junk gets sent along with the fuel which is not good for anything. Plus running air bubbles by the injectors can ruin them......you should never run a fuel injected enginge out of gas
