RPM's at 70mph for Automatic 2000 4R?
Just had the tranny re-done on my 2000 4R due to the strawberry milkshake......still got problems, but that's a whole nuther issue!
Anyway....It's the wife's vehicle and I hardly drive it. Finally drove it last nite and can't remember what the rpm's were at 70mph. Right now it's about 2150 at 70mph.
Does that sound right?
Thx

Depends a lot on the altitude you are running at, and a bit on the fuel grade too. I live in both Seattle and in Bozeman (5000ft) and notice a jump of about 250rpm or more - ~2000 in Seattle and 2250 in Bozeman with 285 BFG's

I am a bit confused by some of the responses.
How can your RPMs vary by a few hundred at any given speed.
Unless your TC is not locked up and you are slipping in 4th, your speed at RPM should be constant at a given highway speed like 70 mph. That speed is determined by your final drive ratio and tire size. You should only see minute changes due to tire pressure and treadwear.
Am I wrong about this?
