do you guys know anything about these? i've never really looked into them at all but i've heard people talk about them in the past usually in regards to full size rigs and turbo diesels. as the name implies, its a performance cam that replaces all the bushings with ball bearings to obviously reduce friction a lot and send that power to the rear wheels without nearly as much loss as a standard cam.

do these even exist for the 3.4L to ya'lls knowledge? i've been looking for some other ways to squeeze more power outta my engine now that i have a 4" deckplate, ISR mod, and soon-to-be exhaust. the trd blower is just too much, i'd rather do a SAS first. even if there aren't any roller cams for our small displacement rice burners, anyone know where to get a good performance cam or have any other ideas of how to get some power that aren't hella expensive?

here i thought roller cams were for pushrod engines only and were used with hydraulic roller lifters (I think?) as opposed to a conventional cam with flat tappets?

However cam grind will have far far more effects on power than cam type....that I do know.

no roller cams available for any US toyota engines i've ever seen(maybe some of the australian/japanese V8s, who knows).

TRD was working on a roller cam/roller rocker setup for the 20R and 22R but nothing ever came of it. it'd be kind of nice, but you'd need a roller cam to utilize it. main problem is that with an OHC engine set up like the 22R, it's kind of hard to design a decent adjuster with a roller tip on either end, unlike a pushrod engine where you can just put the adjuster on the pushrod side.

and it'd be pointless to have a roller valvetrain on the toy V6s, since they don't even have rocker arms!

Well alright, I guess that answers that, lol. I don't know a whole lot about engine design and how different types of cams, rockers, etc. would integrate with eachother due to different configurations (pushrod, OHC, DOHC, and so on). I was just thinkin about it the other day and thought I'd ask to see if there was something available. Too bad there isn't!
