Rim+tire packages

Can someone please tell me the largest tires I can put on my stock 2002 Tacoma 4x4? I am looking to replace my stock wheels also. The problem is I
live in NJ where the inspection stations are picky to say the least. If the tires stick out at all it will fail. However I would like to go right to the edge of my
stock fender flares. Any advice on actual sizes, measuring techniques, backspacing, or a web site with a package that will definately fit would be greatly appreciated. Pictures of your similar rig, or if you're selling something
in newer condition let me know. I drive in snow and occasionally on the beach. Thanks

If you're going to stay stock I think the largest you really even want to go will be 32" or 265/75/16 - otherwise the truck will be a dog and won't accelerate very well.

Can he even fit 32's ? I have 31's and they rub like a mother, and they came stock on the truck!

Isn't 265/70/16 the same as 31"?
That's the size that came stock and I had no rubbing there... 32" muds gave me some rubbing - I'm not sure if I would have the same issue with 32" ATs.

Yes, 265/75R16 tires are just under 31" tires.

Actually 265/75/16 are 31.6 inches and a 265/70/16 are 30.6 inches. It is easy to swap the middle numbers and get them confused.

Turbo,

Really, what is with these noobs these days? What about that guy who asked SC questions but "couldn't find anything" about SC mods?
