Replacing CV axles and wondering about re-greasing wheel bearings

I'm in the process of getting my 4runner running again and am going to be rebuilding the front CV axles because they have over 300K miles on them and are leaking.

My questions is while I have them out of the wheel hub, is it possible physically to re-grease the wheel bearings ? They roll smooth and there is no play but after than many miles I wonder about the amount of grease left?

I'm not sure how much factory bearings are from Toyota, but I'd be tempted to replace both while you've got the hub carrier in pieces. No time like the present.

300k is a ton of miles on a set of bearings. I keep wondering about my own...

The bearings are sealed so you cannot degrease them. You would have to pull the hub assembly to have them pressed out.

Its probably worth the time to replace them while you have the CV's out.

I would just pull the whole spindle and do upper and lower balljoints if you havent recently. Dont want to go and run over your own tire
