Removing CV with manual hubs
I just broke my front passenger axle getting stuck in the mud last night, I'm not foreign to replacing axles but I am foreign with manual hubs. Anyone have a write up for removing the hub and cv?

There's a link to a great write-up from Scuba in that post for the earlier style that I found helpful for what I had. You won't need to take it that far apart, but you get an idea of what's in there.
Basicallly it's a little 12mm bolt, a washer and a c-clip once you get the hub body off. After that it's just like the add style in that you remove lower ball joint bolts, move spindle away from cv shaft and aside, and so on. There's a variety of ways to get the cone washers out of the hub where it meets the wheel flange. I used a flat piece of steel on the top of the stud and an easy tap of the hammer. That made them pop out easy in my case.
If the hub body needs a regreasing now would be an excellent time.

I've got to put my cv shafts back in the hubs and button it all up hopefully Wednesday. Will be throwing pics up in my build thread then. Might be an added reference since you won't need to take the lock-outs all apart unless you're regreasing them.

Simple... unbolt the cap (the part with the knob) pull it off, remove the bolt on the end of the cv shaft, then unbolt the hub, the cone washers will be a p.i.t.a. especially if they havent come off in a while, I use a ball peen hammer to tap around the outside of the hub, and that usually pops them out enough to grip them with pliers, then just slide the hub off.
