Removing a 4ws shift knob with 4wd button?

I'm replacing my stereo in my 2000 limited in the next couple weeks and was watching some videos on how to do it.

My 00 limited's 4wd shifter has the 4wd button on it and I was wondering how I'm supposed to remove that? I don't think I can unscrew it and can't seem to find an answer online.

Anyone else do this?

shouldn't have to pop up the shifter trim will give you enough room to remove the stereo trim

On my Tacoma there is a Philips screw on the passenger side, just remove that and it slides off.

My '02 has the phillips screw on the driverside of the tcase shifter. Just pop the screw out and the shifter knob will come off. Just don't yank the knob up as a wire underneath is connected to the assembly.
