Rear Window/Wiper Won't Work

Fellas,

I have a'98 4Runner, I'm having problems with the rear window and wiper. They all of a sudden won't work.

Window won't roll down, wiper won't work.

Is there a connection somewhere I can check?

I'm hoping it's not the controller in the rear door.

Thanks for your help, have a good Thanksgiving.

First thing to check on these kinds of issues is the wiring bundle in the harness between the liftgate and the body. Slide the harness forward and back and check for stripped or broken wires. Happens all the time....

Does the keyswitch in the liftgate work the window?

Thanks Durk,

It doesn't work by the console switch or the key switch on the door. I'll look at the wiring, is there a connector maybe?

I even gave it the old thump with your hand on the door. That didn't do anything. LOL

It worked fine before I took it to a body shop to have the roof repainted. I called them, all they did was open the hatch to tape it off, no wire or door were removed. ( I didn't think they would. )

Thanks for your reply.

Have a good Thanksgiving.

This is not a coincidence.

Well, it started working correctly. I'm not sure what to think. Maybe the next time it acts up I can do some wire testing.

Thank You all for your replies, have a good week.
