Rear shock length question

I may try this in the offroad section as well, but I'm wondering if you guys can help me (or just tell me) how long a shock I should put on the back of my Tacoma is I am gonna go from stock to about a 3" lift. the lift either all spring, or half spring half shackle.

OR
is 8" enough?

thanks gang

the best thing to do is do the lift and measure for the extended and compressed lengths, then order the shocks to those specs, bucause all lifts are different, depending on the leaves you use and the shackles and lots of other stuff.
