Rear Pinion Seal Replacement

I've done some searches on this topic and can't find exactly the answer I am looking for. First should I be measuring the preload on the pinion bearing and setting it back to that point or should I just torque the pinion nut back down. If so how much torque, I keep seeing "about 200 lb/ft", but I would like to be a little more accurate. And second should I be replacing the pinion nut or just reuse the old one. Thanks for the responses.
