Rear Left Brake Issue.
Last night, I was over at my buddies house studying and hanging out. When I got in my 4Runner to head home, I put it in drive and it didn't roll any at all; which was weird because I was on an incline (facing down) of about 10 degrees. I thought my E-brake had ben sticking some because I've had this issue for about 2 weeks. But last night was different. I had it up to 1600 RPM in first and it was barely moving at all. (My left rear was skidding in his yard). Then it started to shake and finally after gasing it more, I heard and felt a crunching, grinding, banging noise. I barely tapped the brake but you would've thought I had floor-boarded the brake. I need to note that it worked fine in reverse and that for the past few weeks, if I was on gravel and was going around 5 MPH, if I ever so slightly touched the brake my rear's would skid. So Glen said to back it into the car port and we'd tear into it. The left rear brake was retardedly tight. It was bound up so hard. We got a can of brake cleaner, and went to town on it. We reset the gearing and fixed the E-brake and it works fine. What couls have caused this, OH, and my wheel cylinder on the right rear is busted.

most likely brake dust/diff fluid is gumming up in between your drum and shoes
this is caused by a leaking rear inner axle seal
take off you drum and see if that is that cause, it was for me
if that is the cause, i suggest replacing with napa axle seals, not oem
