rear diff lock mod 98 taco question

I see the write up for the 4runner in the tech section and it says pin 8 on the ecu is what to ground. the wiring colors for the 4runner and the taco are different. Blue and red for the runer and the taco is solid grey. Should I cut and ground the grey wire # 8 on the harness. I have it all opened up and ready to go so please respond quickly. Thnx...
