'02 Runner.

Installing PP springs this weekend and have searched for the past 2 days on a write up or some vague instructions on the process to remove the rear coils. I'm hoping someone can show me a link or pm me some instructions. Preferably someone that's not a search nazi. The only info. that i come across is for a 2nd gen. Would the same process be involved?

the short and sweet version is unbolt the shocks the sway bar end links and if need be the trac bar

If you follow those directions, it shouldnt take you more than an hour if that. And yes, dont over think it!

Don't be afraid to replace the swaybar endlinks at the same time. They break due to rust/corrosion anyway, so might as well replace them now. Rockauto has some great prices on rear endlinks.

If the coils aren't falling out after unbolting the sway bar, step down on the brake drum and that will tell you how much play you have left. Mine fell out of the driver's side when I pushed down and the new one slipped right in. I think I have some pictures in my profile thread in my sig line (edit: I have exactly one picture - sorry). The sway bar is suspended by bushings, so it won't go anywhere. Springs are SUPER EASY compared to the shocks though. If you're doing the rear shocks, do a search first and I suggest an angle grinder or you'll be swearing a lot, with bloody knuckles.
