rear air bags??

i need to firm up the ride on my 98 2wd limited, the rear does not sag but it rides really bouncy and squats big time when towing,i do not want to lift my truck,i cannot find stock height stiffer springs so now i am looking into air bags for the rear,my question is can i run them with air in them all the time to firm up the ride and do i have to remove the bumpstop inside the rear spring, thanks in advance

Why don't you just throw a set of 99' springs on it. Its only a one inch difference. Alot easier too

I have no idea about the airbags, but I've got a set of monroe air shocks on mine and I find i can adjust the ride. For example, if I'm hauling heavy loads, I will set it to around 25 psi, if I require a firm ride, i'll set it to around 60psi. I find this system works well. Just something to think about.

It would be closer to 2" of difference. The 2WD sit lower than the 4WD.

I just removed air bags from my 96 4x4.. had the same soft feel and would bottom out..

Mine are air lift brand.. yes, has to remove the stop inside the spring (comes out with the spring.. have bags and a hard rubber cylinder that go into the spring.. the air line runs up through a hole in the hard rubber cylinder (like a double thick hockey puck the size of the inside of the spring)

Air Lift 1000.. poke X here

Mine worked great..kept about 10 pounds in them until the dog & cooler were loaded then upped them to 20..

Why did I take them out? Recall replaced the springs this week.. don't need them now..
