Question Ready to buy my 04 4Runner, need your help.

Probably here in the next few weeks I'm going to finally go out and start looking for my new Runner.

What I'm looking for is a Limited, in the Titanium exterior and the dark charcoal interior. I also want the moon roof, the side impact air bags, but I don't want the navigation system. I don't think there are any other options left?

I have 15k to put toward the down payment, so I'm hoping I have a little leverage in negotiating a good price.

So when I finally find one, what do you think I should expect to pay? If they ask me what I'm willing to pay, what should I say for a good starting point? I live in Washington if that matters on the pricing?

I hate doing this stuff, so I want to get a good idea of what to expect before I walk in. If anyone has any tips on buying my new 4Runner, please respond...

oh,
anyone know if Toyota is going to have any special financing on these at the end of the year?

Thanks
Chris.

Best bet would be to go to your bank or Credit place and get the best interest rate you can.

Whats up!!

I have a lot of research on this and wanted to give you a few pointers. Obviously you have internet. So, check this site out.

http://kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.tp?kbb&&1&nc1&&&&nc

You can navigate from that page with your zip code and choose the vehicle you want. Once you have selected the vehicle you want, there will be a link about 3/4 of the way down saying "price it with options." Click that and you should be able to choose options that you want. That should give you an idea of about how much you expect to pay. At the bottom of this page, there will be another link that says "printable report." That report will give you an estimated invoice price, MSRP price, and a value that Kelley's Blue Book think that vehicle should sell for. I use this company because a sales rep for TOYO said they use that this website is usually right on with their numbers. Print that out. When I went to the TOYO dealer here, I had a copy of that thing in my hand and asked for the average selling price.

Some other tips, try not mention that you have a big down payment. They tend not be so negotiative when they know that, because then they will not make as much profit if they agree on a lower number. Remeber, if you finance with them, they are still making money off of you. Do what EDGE said, and maybe you could have a finance company set up. I have noticed that the best time to buy is right at the end of the month. At this point, the dealer is usually behind quota and is looking to move a lot of vehicles to meet that quota.

If you have any other questions, email me. Take care,

Joseph

moon roof, JBL Synthesis 3-in-1 Stereo w/6-Disc Changer
Includes JBL Synthesis with 6-disc in-dash CD player and cassette and 10 speakers including center channel and subwoofer., Curtain and Side Airbags, X-REAS Shock Absorbers, Rear Spoiler, Daytime Running Lights, Rear Air Suspension

Total with options and 540 for destination charge, MSRP 41875 Invoice 37,047 and what other are paying in your area 38,699 Im about 30 miles outside NYC so it's my area your can differ

Got this off edmunds.com went to new car selected 4Runner

Now take 15k off the price figure out your interest rate from the bank, walk into a dealer and say Im willing to pay 37,047 for this truck I'll buy it right now if you can sell it to me for this price

Email several dealers and they will return quotes to you.

Now I have to figure out interest on the 22047, thats 15k of the 37,047 any math wizes

a few tips to add to uwf check the dealer lot the night before, funny how they never have the car you want then they find it, odd how you can misplace a 4000lb peace of steel

don't spend more than an hour or 2 their, they will call cause they want to sell, get quotes from several dealers

4Runners are popular among the many vehicles on the road so keep in mind they will sell a 4Runner, the 4Runner practically sells itself, it's not like an Explorer, 100 to choose from

I got an '04 Limited V8 Titanium fully loaded without the DVD/NAV system. MSRP was around $41K and I paid $37K. That was in early October. I don't know how many Toyota dealers are near you, but if there are several, chances are one is a high volume seller. They will usually beat any price of any other dealer in town, because since they sell so many they don't have to worry about making a huge profit.

I bought my 4WD '03 4Runner Ltd with everything except nav and the air suspension in April. Sticker was $40K, I was able to talk down to 35,200 before ttl. I also financed through Toyota and got 3.9% apr, and I think it may be lower now. I guess I didn't do too bad...
