Just browsing for some tires and I came across this. The paragraph reads that they are "Q" rated speed and the description reads that they are "SR".
Does the "SR" just stand for speed rated maybe? Or is it a misprint?

I was out yesterday and inspected my tires, and I saw what I would call a gash or valley in the tire. The tire it at 32 PSI for the winter and all the other tires are fine except one. They are the stock DunSchlops BTW. On the outside close to the edge there is a valley around most of the tire. I'd say it is about 1" in from the outer edge. It almost looks like it was shaved or better yet like if you put something on a grinding wheel and left it in one spot for a while. Does this make sense to anyone? I would get pics, but no digicam. I looked on the net for unusual tire wear and can't seem to locate anything.

One of my friends said that my tires were for "Passenger Vehicles" because of the P on the side. I laughed and never said a thing. The same one that said you have to hook the supercharger up to the throttle body instead of a pulley/belt system.

If your tires have a P on them like P235/75R15 then he is correct.

The P stands for Passenger and they are not as strong as a Light Truck tire as in LT235... On my F150, I can eat up a set of P265/70R17 tires in 25,000 miles, they need 45psi in front and 30 in back to come even close to wearing properly and must be rotated twice of often. The LTs I replaced them with are now at 47k and still look good.

Ps have a thinner sidewall and less load capability than LTs, generally fewer plys, they ride smoother but aren't really great for trucks.
