R150F/R151F transmission trivia question
First time posting. This forum seems more geared to 4runners newer than mine (1988) but there was enough in the archives about 1st gens and 22re's that I thought I'd register.
I just got my 4runner back after having a shop swap in an R151F 5 speed from a 1986 truck with the 22ret turbo, in place of the stock W56 which had nearly shot bearings.
The shifter on the R151F is about 2" forward from where the old W56 shifter was located, so the stock shifter boot won't fit. Given the rarity of R151F transmissions, the boot from one of those will be very hard to find.
I'd like to know if the shifter boots on the similar but much more common R150F transmissions that came on 1988-95 trucks w the 3.0 V6's will fit.
Can anyone help me out?

I don't know the answer to your question, but...
I bought a short-throw shifter from Marlin Crawler, and they'll custom weld the shifter so it'll be where you want it, which means they could move it back two inches.
Plus, you'll be ready for a body lift.
Also, if you order from them, expect it to take a month to arrive, they're not fast, but the product is good.
