Quietest aftermarket cat back at cruising speed ?

The mod list marches on and I am now onto the cat back for my 93 V6 5 speed. I now am comfortable which is the loudest from the other thread but I want to go the other direction.

I have listened to Corey's Magnaflow about 25 times now

After being burned in the past by systems with really bad resonances at highway speeds in my 3rd gen ( 1900-2100 rpm), I am really carefull.

My first Borla was a nightmare on my 96 V6 and eventually I returned it due to being impossibly boomy at 1900-2100 rpm. The replacement TRD was great as was the TRd on my twin cat 99. (the early borla's had a fix with a weld in evnturi at the muffler inlet apparently).

Anyway, looking for a nice low restriction cat back that sounds good and throaty when you get on it but not tiring on the highway as I will be in this truck a lot on the highway on the weekends commuting to my part time job at a Ski Resort.

Whaddya like ?

Thanks

David

Id say go with an oem one. fits right, lifetime warranty, same price (maybe even less) and silent all the time. althought it isnt that throaty.

You are probably right but you are supposed to enable me, not make me leave it stock :pat:

Just kidding

Thanks

If you like the general tone of the Magnaflows, then see if you can fit a 24" in there. The longer ones will be quieter. I think folks have decided that an 18" Magnaflow is about as quiet as stock, so the 24" should be downright silent.

sorry about that.. but i tried a magnaflow on my 92 and i thought it sounded like crap, so i went back to stock. personally i like silence from my vehicles, at idle or at cruising speed.

The Dynomax super turbo is probably the quietest performance muffler out there. It uses a winding fiberglass passage through a mechanical baffle.

The center section is packed in fiberglass while the ends act like a mechanical baffle. I'm fairly sure this is offered in a cat back for truck's.
