Quick Boot?
Has anyone seen, heard of, or used the Quick Boot? It is a replacement CV boot from Autozone (probably elsewhere too). I tore a boot and I already have an actual replacement so I won't be using it but I ran across this and figured that if it really is quick and easy compared to a regular boot it seems like it would be convenient thing to add to your standard equipment for quick trail repairs. Then the next question is, is it only good enough to throw on and limp off the trail or is it a permanent thing? Anyone used one?

VW's use a split boot as a replacement, including the Class 11 Bajas that run the Baja 1000. They are bolted together, though, with little bitty nuts and bolts. Very effective. I have seen sets last almost 10 years on my last bug, and lasted a couple of years of hard use on my sandrail. So, I would think they should be able to last until you can do the job properly.

like Greene said, the quick boots I've seen use little nuts and bolts to hold them together. The big bonus is that you can install them by simply removing the wheel at that corner.
