Pro Comp 8069/1069 wheels group buy!
13 November 2008,
Currently the Pro Comp 8069 Wheels are sold out and will not be back in stock until the end of November, begining of December time frame. I will be purchasing 5 of these the day they are available. Since this thread has shown several people wanting to buy these wheels, I figured I would start a group buy thread .
Members in on the future group buy;
Punch (Ryan) x 5
rocket (Erik) x 5
LouisvilleKY (Brian) x 5
Mitchell (ThunderOne) x4
Anyone else interested, post up!

I'm thinking about buying the same wheels at www.4wheelcustoms.com
They were in stock last time I checked but if everyone else is out I'd be surprised if anyone has them right now.
Before you try, would you be interested in seeing if they'll offer a discount to each of us? I'd be getting 5 myself so It's worth a try. PM me.

hey! I have been talking to Rocket on TTORA about the group buy. He's disappeared from TTORA since the 13th. I was in for the group buy, I just needed to know how I'm supposed to pay my part and some more details. Rocket left me hangin'!

I have no problem getting this organized. I figure I'll just set something up with the company we decide to purchase from. Are you still interested? First name? 4 or 5 wheels?

So far it looks like we have 19 wheels waiting to burn holes in our pockets. Let's see if there's anymore interest...

I spent a lot of time hunting for 8069 pics. Here's some good examples...
This is the same exact wheel (1069) but with a polished finish...
"the backspacing is 4" on my 16x8 wheels"..."and there is no rubbing on the frame or the upper arms"...
I have 16x8 8069 Pro Comp wheels with 4" of back spacing and zero rubbing issues.
This is the same exact wheel (1069) but with a polished finish...
...mine are the 1069's. I love them! They look great, work great. No complaints. I'm not sure what backspacing I have but they are 15x8, (yes one of the few rare 15" 4runners) and I have 33/12.5/15 pro comp mud terrrains. If you get the 16X8 wheels, you should have no problems with the 265's or the 285's. My other 97 that I owned had 16X8 with 285 mtr's and looked great...

Anyone else?
This "group buy" just sorta developed on it's own and we already have 4 buyers.
To keep it simple, this offer will be limited to the 8069/1069 wheels but if your interested in a different Pro Comp wheel, speak up now before the negotiating begins.
Punch or myself will have more details later, hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday.

Well I got some good news and bad news...
First, the 8069's are out of stock everywhere until Dec 8th which is fine by me but there's a catch. 4wheelparts already has 82 of them on back order but only 60 of them are "estimated to arrive".
I talked to some a-hole at 4wheelparts (1-800 number) that said he actually operates a Pro Comp distribution center and the next 8069 shipment could be anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months.
My intentions were to go through 4Wheel Customs. Really nice folks that I know would of hooked us up. Even without a discount, they have the cheapest price of anyone and still offer group buys and sales. Only problem is they're on vacation until Dec. 1st.
5 wheels shipped from them to CO: $617.77 (normal price)
Wheeler's Off-Road sounded interested...placed me on hold, then return to say, "sorry our wheel prices don't have any markup so a discount is'nt possible". I know that's a load of bs but I wasn't expecting anything from them anyway.
5 wheels shipped to CO: $670.00 (normal price)
Then I tried Performance Products. Looked online and see they're offering a 'buy 3 get 1 free' or 'buy 4 get 1 free'. Not bad but I called anyway and spoke to a nice dude.
He owns a Tacoma and was more than willing to offer something better in the amount of $95 per wheel! Excellent price and this might be worth it for you guys but not so much for me. The company is located in CA but because they have a "warehouse" in CO, I'm charged with both shipping and tax. The added tax ($43.36) kinda ruins the deal.
Check online and see if they apply tax in your state. 4Wheelparts owns Performance Products so this could be the real reason for the taxing.
5 wheels shipped to CO: $654.07 (online get 1 free deal) (w/ CO tax)
5 wheels shipped to CO: $592.72 (group buy discount) (w/CO tax)
If your state dosen't charge you tax, your looking at $550.00~ shipped for 5 wheels. Let me know if you want the contact info for the above discount.
I'm glad I decided to look and call around because I ended up finding one heck of a deal that's only good until midnight TONIGHT!
As it is, 4Wheelfarts will be the first ones to get these wheels so it only makes sense to order from them -providing price. I know they wouldn't do a small group buy but as a last resort, I decided to look online and see if they had a sale...low and behold they have a sale going that nobody can beat.
** If you have one of their stores nearby, shipping is FREE and you only pay tax. Right now, until midnight, they're offering 20% off all Pro Comp Extreme Alloy wheels.
I just placed my order.
5 wheels shipped to CO: $526.05
* Subtotal: $483.95
* Tax for CO: $42.10
* Shipping - Pickup In-Store: FREE
* Total: $526.05

is $486 including shipping from 4WP better than your deal with Performance Products? I calculated 20% off of 4WP's price of $120.99, comes out to be $96.79, which is slightly more than Performance Products' $95 wheel deal.
