Hey all, I have an 01 Tacoma and the driver side door lock switch will lock the doors but not unlock them. The keyless entry still locks and unlocks so I don't believe that it is the actuator. My power mirror also does not work. I have a friend that said that my switch must have been going bad so I ordered a new door lock switch and also a new mirror and replaced both but am still having the same problem. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

Could there be a common ground that would be the reason that both of these are not working? does anyone know the wires from the mirror and door lock that are the ground wires? Thanks

When you say new switches you mean brand new in then box from Toyota??

Did you think to test the old switches before you got the new ones??

When installing the new switches did you clean the plugs on the harness side

Now looking at my Tacoma 2000 EWD all the door and window grounds are White with a black stripe.

It is on the left edge of the reinforcement that really cool piece of steel under the dash on the left side

yours might be different**

Try and get a copy of the EWD for your truck

If you had a failure there I think you would have many more circuits not working

Well sadly no, they are not from Toyota... I was cheap and bought an aftermarket switch. I wasn't so sure how to test the old switch and a friend had told me most likely it was the switch so I just ordered one. I also figured that if the ground was my problem that I would have more things not working but I just thought that I would check. Thanks for the help on which ones are the grounds. Also, what is the best way to clean the plugs?
