power steering pump noises
Hi all,
I have a 97 3gen with 166K miles and am getting some strange noises in the power steering pump. Did see some smoking belt from it and not sure if the bearings are going or what. It has been happening on and off in the cold weather as of late. Fluid is full but a bit dirty and there are no leaks and no squeals when turning the tires.
I searched yotatech and could not find anything.
WHat gives?

Usually by the time it starts making noises it is far gone. That said, mine has been making terrible noises for probably close to 2k miles, and hasn't died yet... DO NOT get one from Advance Auto, or any place like that, this will be my THIRD advance auto pump thats gone out.
