power steering problems
the other day, my power steering started making groaning noises when i'd turn the wheel while the engine was cold. after a while it would go away. i searched this forum and found some people who had the same problem, and flushed my ps with a turkey baster and new atf. it worked great, no more noise
now my power steering is leaking! there's atf dripping out of the box. my question is, is my life going to be in any serious jeopardy if i keep driving my truck without fixing my box? there's no way i want to spend 200 bucks on a rebuilt box, since i am 1) currently broke 2) planning on converting to hi-steer within the next 6 months. my dad's ps died in his old ford and he still drives it, albeit without power steering.
i can always keep dumping more fluid into the reservoir, as it doesn't seem to be a fast leak

I feel as long as you are aware of the situation, your life is not in danger by driving your truck with a power steering fluid leak. If it were to leak quite a bit and you neglectide it, for sure it would start howling at you to add more fluid. My only concern is someone driving it besides yourself who is not aware of the problem. Other than that, you should be good to go.
