Power Antenna doesnt want to work
A couple weeks ago my antenna stopped working, so I did some research and ordered a new antenna off the interenet. When it came in I ended up having to take the wheel liner off to gain access to the antenna motor. I took it apart and removed the broken pieces of cable. I then put it all back together and remounted it to the car. I then feed the cable back in through after a friend turned the radio off. The antenna went all the way down as it should have; however, once I screwed on the cap and turned the radio power back on nothing happens. I took the antenna motor out again to find that the motor keep retracting the cord to the point that i pull the cord out of the antenna. I tried this a couple times with the same result. Any one have any suggestions?

This is a PITA. I have had antenna problems twice now in my 4Runner. This last time, for some reason, the antenna decided to spit itself out completely and dangle off of my hood. I researched and went through the same process to try and get it back in properly. After failing several times, I gave up and took it to my dealership. They promptly got the antenna back in and didn't charge me much.
Make friends at the dealership, it really helps sometimes.

Just save yourself the trouble and put a whip antenna on it. Thats what I did when the mast on my power antenna stripped out and I haven't looked back. Theres a write up somewhere on here with all the parts you need.
