popping noise

i dunno if its me and i just havent noticed it before but when i have the car in 4wd and make a tight left turn there is a pop noise that happens coming from the left front side of the car... any clue what this might be or if its just normal? i checked my cv boots and they arent ripped and my 4wd works just fine on the ice and snow

what year? 4Runner, Pick UP, Tacoma? most likely its just the steering stops.

here is a little info on that. scroll down to #11 hope this helps and if this isn't it, let us know.

What size tires are you running? If you don't have oversized tires and you're sure that the noise isn't the tire rubbing then its probably the steering stop...does it happen when you hit bumps more often than on a flat surface? If so then I would put money on it being the steering stops...just grease em up and you'll be fine.

theyre just the stock tire size i think 30 inchers... it doesnt sound like the tire though i think it might be the steering stop or whatever but it only does it in 4wd, not 2wd but does that even matter? is it just because the front wheel drive is putting force on it or something?

yeah its just from the wheel putting force on it. it might only do it when its in 4wheel drive for you because it puts even more force on it? spray some wd40 on it next time you plan on putting it in 4wheel drive and see if it still does it. if thats it, get some water proof greese and smear it all over them.
