plugs, airbox, etc questions
Greetings !
I just picked up a 98 Limited with 128k to replace my much loved but sadly totalled 1993 2nd gen.
I have had a couple of 3rd gens before but its been a while.
So, a couple of questions :
1. Air box mod ... where do you get the sensor safe RTV for sealing the deck plate ?
2. What stock (not SC'd) plugs work best
3. Cost effective Cat back ? (Ihave had TRD before and liked it but cannot afford now)

To answer a few of your questions: You can pick up the blue sensor safe RTV silicon at Wal-Mart for a couple of dollars.
2. The best plugs to run in that engine are either the stock NGK's or Denso's. I have run both, but prefer the NGK's.
3. Not sure about the cat-back system. I run a flowmaster and love the way it sounds, but different people prefer different things. Good luck with the new 4Runner.

I had a Borla on my 96 and endeing up sending it back..it was obnoxiously loud and boomy on the highway...the dreaded droaning !
The TRD was great... sporty sounding with no droaning.
I see from your sig you are using a flowmaster 40 series.... part number by any chance ????

No sorry no part number. I got it when I first got the truck, single in dual outlet. If I had to do it over again I would probably just get a single in single outlet muffler, seeing as two pipes just make one more to deal with than is needed when modifying the vehicle. Also I cannot fit my spare underneath anymore. That willl be changed this weekend after a little 
.

Not sure if he has flowmaster clips or p/n's, but he does have a variety.
