Hey guys, I got the OME lift kit for my 2000 4runner:
881 Front Coils
890 Rear Coils
OME-90004 Shocks
OME-60027 Shocks
Top plate spacers

I got the coils and shocks for the front are assembled and ready to put in. But I cant get them to fit! they are too long. Ive pryed the wish bone down with a pry bar and still come up at least an inch short of getting the lower shock bolt in. I even disconnected the sway bar to get even more play and it still did not work. I called Totech support and they were not much help, They just told me to do the same thing ive been doing. I need some major help with these front coils guys..

you removed the 4 bolts holding the lower ball joint ? loosen the lower a arm bolts and if need be pop off the tie rod ends

the only thing i disconnected in an attempt to help was the tie rod end of the sway bar. It fits without the top plate but there is not way in hell it woul fit with the top plate..

ya i installed a set of oem 882 with top outs no problem

It will fit if assembled correctly - I had almost the exact same setup as that on my 3rd gen.

Do you have some pics of you attempting to install it so we can get an idea of what kind of clearance you are working with/seeing?

i had to use my truck so i just put them in without the top plate spacers. for now. sorry i didnt take pics. the problem was that i could not bolt the front lower shock bolt because the strut assembly was too long with the top plate and i could not force the lower Aarm down far enough to make the shock bolt hole line up with the hole on the Aarm...... what else could i unbolt or loosen to get more play so i can make it fit?

CV boots are both riped now after the lift... im gonna install the diff drop so i hope it helps. can i replace just the torn boots? or do i need to buy new drive shafts?

there called c.v. axles and yes you can just buy new boots, there between 10 and 20 dollars from the parts store if i remember right.

As warpigg already said, yes, you can replace the boots but from what I've been told, it's a royal PITA and thus, I've always had my dealer do them for me (back when I got a discount on labor, of course).

well last time i went to do my boots when i blew my ball joint out on the trail FML, the axle's wernt the right size because they were aftermarket so the boots didnt fit, then we bought a remaned axle from napa with boots that was $55 with discount.

Thanks for all the great help guys. Here is where I'm at with the lift kit installation. I've got the rear lift in and had no problems. I also put in the diff drop in with no problems. The front coil and shock assemblys are installed without the top plate spacers. I'm gonna give it another shot at installing the top plate spacers.

In the previous responses above it was mentioned to remove the 4 bolts that are on the lower ball joint to get more play. If you do this is it hard to re-attach the 4 bolts once the coil/shock assembly is installed?

One more thing. The OME kit came with one "puck washer" what is this used for?

sometimes its hard to put the 4 bolts in, but if you use a pry bar on the upper control arm and force it down and use a screw driver to center the holes its not bad at all.

I finaly got the front coils in with the top spacers! Thanks for all the help much appreciated!

I believe the puck spacers are for giving you additional front height. I think you install them on the front shock bodies under the spring.

Its been awhile, but I think I flipped the 4runner vehicle jack upside down and jacked the a-arm down from the wheel well. Note: I didn't have spacers.
