Pic Request. 3rd gens with Snowboard racks.
Whats up yota Tech I have a simple request, I would like to see all your 3rd gens with roofracks/snowboard racks. I am in the process of searching the market b4 the season starts and would like some ideas. thanks alota

Yakima Setup

Big Powderhound mounts
This setup has worked quite well for me and I highly recommend it. The only downsides is that it is tight with 4 boards - but they will just fit.

i just use the stock rack and tie downs. works fine with surfboards too. granted i don't live in the snow and usually am not in it for more than a week at time, so accumulation and cold is not a huge problem for me. otherwise i would spend the $$ on yakima.

Hey Dudes-
I do have some experience with both Yaks and Thule. As a ski instructor carrying skis and snowboards everyday in Utah I used Yaks for one year and Thule's for the next. (my brother and I swapped racks for fun) The Thule's seem to have just a little extra room for 2 snowboards side by side. That's if you are getting the 4 boards/ 6 ski setup. The are both superior quality and you won't have problems with either. Personally, I like the Thule a little better because of the reason above and I like the feet that connect to your rack. If you are using factory racks the feet for the thule systems give you a little more clearance with bindings on both skis and boards without having to use the stilt peice on one end like the yaks have. I also like to looks of the black and silver. But whatever floats your boat, it is all personal choice and you can't go wrong with either.

The rack will kill your (likely already poor) gas mileage. Take it off when you don't need it. I have found that you can leave it all together, just undo the feet from the car and take it off as one piece (can do it myself on the Impala, need help on the 4Runner)
