Piaa Super duper wupers
Some here know that I really hate Piaa Super Plasma white H4 bulbs.
I bought them for the rig back around '99 or so.
I had bought the Hella H4 housings to replace my stock lights, and fell for the hype of the Piaas.
They are crap in the rain, all but a little light about but disappears when driving in the rain.
Many had problems with them burning out, but mine would not.
Finally this morning on the way into work at 3:30 am the drivers side went out.
Got home today and I still had the stock Hella 55/60 H4 bulbs that came with the housings.
Put one in, and then it started to rain.
It is more yellow compared to the whiteness of the Piaa, so it looks a little funny.
I will have to swap in the other one this week.
I never figured though that the bulb would go for about 5 years.
At a later day I will replace both bulbs again with some recommended by Daniel Stern's.
His link is on the above page, and he is considered the guru of automotive lighting.

Maybe you could order the Stern bulbs and get a Silverstar to compare. Then send back the one you don't like.

I've had my Silverstarts for probably about a year now and I still love them, of course now with all of the other lights I have if there is a time when they aren't enough...I've got something to cover it, but if I want just normal night time driving light the Silverstars are great, but in bad weather I will admit they're not the best...but who needs em when you got Hella 500 fogs?
