PIAA light idea...!
anybody seen ir tried this one yet? not gonna get a bumper/brushguard so i was thinking of doing this.

mods, i am at a loss here, i cant figure out how to resize pic and i do not have a editing program other the PAINT! if you wish , ill pull it down.

Killer idea but I would tend to agree with the above statement! I'll be interested to see if you can get it to work, keep us posted!

Hey --
Dont mount them to the plastic, its too flimsy.
Instead, just turn them upsidedown and mount to the underpart of the bumper.
My OEM ones are mounted there, but, you'll need to trim off that plastic. It would work well.

+1 to SC4Runner - plastic is going to be flimsy.
How I mounted my PIAA lights where you have indicated was to use some homemade brackets. The holes in the bumper (at least on my 98) aren't near where you want the lights to be, so we bent up some metal and made some brackets to mount the PIAAs to. We also had to cut the grill slats (small keyhole saw, small hacksaw, dremel, even hot butterknife will work) to fit the lights.
PIAA lights are expensive, so we also used some blue LocTite to hold them securely.
I'm not sure about the model you are thinking about, but some foglight lenses have an up and down position. If this method of mounting is upside down, you may have to invert the lens to maintain proper orientation. The lenses should have some sort of top and bottom markings if this is the case. Also - you may want to recess them so they do not protrude beyond the front edge of the bumper. PIAA lenses are very expensive and hard to come across, so you don't want to hit them on anything and have them crack on you.

I mounted a set of piaa 960s in that area. To improve stability and get them in the right position I got a piece of angle aluminum with holes at home depot and mounted it to the end of the frame rails. There were some very convienent holes at the ends of the rails. All I had to do was cut some plastic to get them in the valence and mount them right to the aluminum. some round lights would be better since the fogs on the 960s are useless.
