Is there a way to get a quick measurement to see if a panhard bar is really necessary after a small lift?

Just installed 906s in the rear of my and I'm interested to know how much my axle has moved in the process (I didn't take any before measurements).

Can I just use a plumbob over the side of the rear fenders and measure to the center of the wheel?

From reading the archives, it seems that most don't think a small lift (2" or so) doesn't require the panhard bar adjustment... but I'm curious to know how much the axle has moved (if any).

2" on a 2000 is equal to 1" on a 1999. I don't think a new panhard rod is required. Although Toyota changed spring heights several time, I think the panhard rod is the same.

Go ahead, plumb & measure the axle, I'm sure we are all curious. Maybe some others will measure also.

My 901's on my 93 moved my rear end off center by almost 3/8". Making it 3/4" to one side. This causes dogtracking and can screw with your alignment.

When I had 890's installed the shift was pretty noticable. I switched to 906's and everything looks pretty even - I haven't measured it, just eye-balled it. A panhard bracket or adjustable panhard bar would be a waste of cash for a 906 lift.

Just wanted to post my findings after some measurements... trying to find completely level ground is not as easy as it sounds.

I don't think the Panhard bar is necessary either at this point... after several measurements with hanging a plumbob over the side of the rear fender and just measuing to the center of the wheel I get ~3in on each side... it may vary by 1/8" or so, but I'm not gonna worry about it at this point, it was very close.

Just for reference, I'm sitting at 36.25" on the driver side... and just over 36.25" on the passenger side with my 2000 4Runner and the 906s.
