painting plastic

yes this sounds like a repeat of cebby's thread, and yes ive read it. however im not dealing with chrome parts, just plastic. im going to take off the license plate surround, the plastic part of the rear bumper, and the plastic part of the front bumper. i have a green sport edition runner with 0 chrome on it. (lucky me). so im going to either paint those parts green or black. im thinking black since ive got black wheels and some window tint...and theres hardly any of that ugly grey color on the truck since i took off the fender flares. all i need to do is just grab some bumper paint in a can from pep boys and spray, correct? or is it more in depth...? thanks.
