Paint touch-up on grille

My grille is chipped up a little bit as you can see:

My first thought was a black touch-up pen but I wanted to see what others have done. Nothing too intricate, I just want to clean it up a bit. Any ideas or suggestions?

Take it off, tape off the chrome, hit it with a scotch brite, clean it good with a paint prep, hit it with some black or charcoal bumper paint from a spray can. Will look as good as new and the bumper paint will resist chipping.

i would imagine you could take the grill off and seperate the chrome part from the black part and then end up just painting the black...black.

there's also some new-fangled chrome paint for keeping the chrome with a different color instead.....not sure if it's intended for this use though. i did use that on the fan on our 88 4runner (after cleaning and plastic primer) and it turned out awesome and looks like it's made out of candy (like a cough drop or something).

i think masking would be a bigger pain than just removing the whole thing and seperating the 2.

Bain you're grille looks sweet! I am looking to do the same. Can you post or message me a short writeup on what you did and the materials that you used? I just don't know exactly how to prep the chrome part of the grille to paint it. Thanks
