orange corner lenses
i am sure that most of you have been on the hboss.net and yotatech community gallery and seen all of the trucks and 4runners, but i was lokking at the 2000 black hiluxsurf with all of the jaos stuff on it. i noticed that it had orange corner lenses. anyways, i think that they look pretty good and i was wondering if any of you know where to get a pair of these from. thanks.

I had a post about this a while ago too. The suggestion was to use some kind of glass spray paint to get that look.

I don't think they were JDM. JDM is usually just the clear corners. And I have never seen them for sale anywhere. If you are super interested, PM JasonB, he has the hook up on JDM parts, and knows a ton fo stuff about JDM. I never really wanted them that bad, I was just curious as to what make/model they were from. Try JasonB or burtmanindustries.com his site.

a bunch of the integra guys want that look too, so they'll just buy some stained glass (testors, etc) paint from hobby lobby and paint it. It looks the same, has that JDM bling, but not the JDM-Heart Attack price to it.

I would try JasonB if he can't get it no one can. I have searched just about everywhere on the internet and found nothing. I don't know whether they were actual JDM or just something custom someone did. I am leaning toward a custom job. I believe all of the JDM corner lenses were clear.

another quick question. do any of you know if the corner lenses come apart were i would be able to paint the inside of it. i was just thinking about buying some cheap ones of ebay and try to paint them. i am sure that i could find the paint at a crafts store or something like that. and yes i know that i can go look for myself but it is dark and cold outside, plus i am lazy. if anyone knows please let me know. thanks.

CT member Darrcoma did a really nice tint job on his taillight lenses (to match his black truck). He reported the formula to use was 8 teaspoons of auto paint per pint of clear, spray-painted onto the inside of the lenses.
Now, .... He was using black paint to get a near-blackout tint... My point - wonder if the same formula and some good orange / amber paint would get you some really nice orange lenses?....

go to ih8mud, then send a PM to a guy named Mot. He's a great guy, lives in Japan, and has a second job shipping JDM stuff over here to the states, I'm sure he can hook you up as he's got several connections over there. I haven't done any JDM stuff for the 4Runner, but can only imagine he can come through. The Cruiser has some OEM fogs, license plate holder, and passenger grab handle, all JDM and in perfect condition. that's my suggestion.. don't cheap out with paint, JDM from Japan is attainable with a little effort.

I saw the old post on this... getting a cheap set and painting them was the first thing that came to mind... You cant go wrong if your final cost is $30 or so... I would love to see how these turn out for you!!!
