Are OME Packers nessessary????

I just ordered OME 881 for the front and 891 for the rear, but do you think that i should order the OME 95pfs packers for the front to even out the lift, or will it not be nessessary

thanks in advance

Based on my experience I would say yes. I'm now running 882's after adding a winch.

I second that. I'm using them with my 881's.

Hum.... I think I missed them... What are they? I have noticed that the front is lower than the rear with my OMEs installed and sebtled. There is plenty of space between the CV boot and the lower a-arm. I was reading on another thread talking about the SAWs and they said it was touching (and they were runnign OMEs in the rear) I need to get that figured out b/c I have a TJM on the way...

They're metal rings that, if I remember correctly, sit between the shock and the cup. You may want to order a few of them, because they're only like 1/8 of an inch thick, if that.

Which is better?

Hmmm... so which would be better, and which would be cheaper: Adding a 1" or 1.5" spacer up front along with 881's or a butt-load of trimpackers?

Well let me clarify: I wasn't using the OME trim packers to bring the front up to the height of the rear. If that's what you want to do, then go with a spacer. I don't mind the slight difference in front to back height.

I'm using (and I think this is what others use them for too) the OME packers to even out a slight difference in front height between the DS and the PS.

i thought that the only issue was the level from front to back, are you saying that there is also an issue from left to right

I got the 881/891 combo and have one 5mm packer on each side, the ass end looks higher but cant really tell unless you know that the ass end is higher. If I could do it over, I would get the 882s for the front and maybe an 892 if it's made for the back.

There's SOME difference in left to right. Its definitely less than the front to back difference. We're talking under an inch. But I bet alot of people do have a slight left to right difference.

That's another nice side benefit to SAW's - you can dial in different amounts on each side to compensate for this without using packers.

I used a 1inche cornfed spacer with mine upfront, Every one said that the cornfed were the only ones that would work with the ome. If i could do it all over i would get a 1.5 inche spacer would be perfect.
