OME front Strut install Screw Up
I just had my OME lift put on my 1999 4runner, went with LC springs in the back, but I messed up. I let a friend of mines shop install the lift kit, where I messed up was I did not watch them put it on. I trusted these guys to do a good job, and I thought they did.
It wasn't until tonight when I was welding on the panhard drop bracket that I noticed the problem- The guy that assembled the front struts put the bottom cup that holds the spring on upside down..... I thought it looked funny and after reviewing install pics found on Yotatech it in fact should be cupping the spring, now it looks like the spring is sitting on an upside down bowl. This truck is my daily driver, I have to use it for work and Won't have time to get it down to his shop till next tuesday, Will it be ok till then? or do I need to get this fixed ASAP? The truck has alot of rake to it, I knew it would due to the high LC springs but I think this improper install up front is causing it to be much worse.
Thanks for your help

Hmm, I think the rake is part of the incorrectly installed bottom cup. If I remember correctly doesn't the cup come already in the correct position?? Anyways, I'd prolly get it fixed ASAFP b/c you never know but then again the spring is under compression and is prolly centered on the upside down cup. If you don't take it offroad and closely monitor it you may be safe, it's just a judgement call I think. Me, I'd have them fix it immediately b/c I can't afford any costly repairs.

I just called the shop and in a calm manner explained to them it was done wrong, they said bring it in and we'll fix it. Seeing as I have to wait till next tuesday, I'll just monitor it close. Good thing I kept the invoice
I've gone through this shop for alot of work in the past, and how they handled this was going to be the key to if they have my business or not anymore. Looks like they will continue to, Thanks for the advice guys now if tuesday would just get here
