OME 883s Installed w/Pics

After many years of running a Revtek spacer lift up front with OME shocks, I finally took the time to swap out the spacers for a set of OME 883s. I have a TJM 15 and a Warn M8000 up front, and was set on going with 882s and a top out until I came across a few threads on yotatech praising the 883s. I ended up going with the 883s and so far I am extremely happy. The ride quality has improved a great deal, this new setup is much more solid and soaks up bumps without giving a harsh ride. I decided not to run top out spacers to save some wear and tear on the CVs (which have already been replaced once). The front end came up about 1/2" over the Revtek lift, which by my best guess had sagged to about 2" over the years. So with all that weight up front the 883s along gave me about 2.5" of lift. I've had them for about 1000 miles with no initial sagging, but I'll keep an eye on that and keep you guys updated. If you've got a lot of weight up front I highly recommend this setup, I have been very pleased so far. On with the new pics:

It looks good! i've been thinking about swapping mine out for the exact same set up. i have 882's now with an ARB and a winch and the front end just dropped even though the springs are only 3 months old. Can you measure the front fender height from the ground for me? and can you take a picture of the CV angles please? Thanks.

Godzilla - you're right, it is black with silver cladding. CV's angles are fine, two outer fins are slightly touching but thats about where they have been since I replaced both axles a few years back and I haven't had any trouble since. I would be hesitant to run top outs with these coils, I think that would be pushing it a little bit.

Thanks for the compliments guys, been a trial and error build over the course of the last 5 years - very happy with the way that it has turned out. Here are a few pictures along the way:

Fender from the ground is about 39 3/4" with a 2" body lift and half worn 285s. I'll try to snap a pic of the CVs later this afternoon.

I am not gonna lie. I like it. I like it a lot. The two tone looks good. The rims look good. The rack looks good. The bumper looks good. What I am getting at is that things look good.

I just recently put a set of 883s on my 2001 runner and for kicks drove it about two miles before I put the ARB and winch back on and it rode like a log truck and beat me to death.

Once I put the ARB/Winch on it was the the smoothest ride my 4runner ever had. IMHO it rode better than when it was stock brand new.

I also put a set of 891s on the back and they were not nearly as harsh as I thought they would be. Of course anything is better than my old springs that had COMPLETELY bottomed out and the truck was sitting on the overload bump stops.

If you have a winch bumper don't waste your money on the 882s that WILL sag,, go with the 883s. After 5K miles (1,000 4 wheeling in Colorado) they haven't sagged a bit.

Thanks...I had the Revtek kit up front, 890s in the rear, and a 2" Roger Brown body lift. 285 MT/Rs on stock wheels with 1.5" wheel spacers.

I'm running 890s in the rear (W/O a spare tire) and the rear is about 3/4" of an inch higher. I think this is a pretty good stance because it looks close to level unloaded and then levels out whenever I tow or load up the trunk with gear.
