Old Man Emu Set Up
Hey everyone just one more lift question. I think I will be going with the ome set up to lift my 02 runner. My question is what spring numbers and shocks should I run? Are there different heights available?
Lastly, is the anything else needed to complete the lift?
brake line ext?
Steering stabilzer?
etc?

Is there any other concerns I should have with lifting my truck. Driveline vibrations and cv joints should be fine with the lift if it is only about 2 inchs correct?

the shop around here doesn't know about saws! The only thing they know about for the 4 runner is the OME's.
I guess I have one more question, anyone know of a good shop close to Toronto Canada?

I too am unhappy with the front end. When putting OME shocks/coils on each corner, my 4runner is a good 2.5" lower than the front...and after 2 months, its the same.
Now Im investing in some larger coil spacers, because the 1" spacers I got already sagged.
For the front, just get some coil spacers or if you have the money, look into the coil-overs. There's lots of options. Most are pretty expensive though. You can choose from Sway-A-Way(SAW), Camburg, Fox, Donhue, Fabtech, King, Order them online. They are easier to install too...

Ok... I love my front setup now, and it looks like the buyer for it might be flaky... If it falls through, then I MAY keep my old setup up front and then I'd have OME fronts and Downey Rears for sale. It all depends on how it feels w/ the extra weight of the winch in there...
edit: on second thought, you may not want to run the fronts. they're 882's for 2.5" of lift WITH heavy ARB/TJM bumper w/ a winch and 4wd diff. They'd give you 4" +.... You'd need the downeys plus a 2" spacer in the rear to get it to sit level.

(on a more personal note: you're going to switch to the Tech 1's, right? Or is it still the LX450's? Why no likey the Downey's?)

Not to drag this on any farther.. But what I was getting at is the 2wd coils are shorter, thus more lift when you install a 4x4 lift coil. I'm guessing you're referring to the added weight of a front differential?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the coils being 1" shorter... make that about 4.5-5" up front... these things are STOUT even on a 4wd w/ bumper and winch. subtract over 400# of weight and it'd be STIFF>...

I have a 4 wd. In reality I just want to get my truck up in the air for some mild off roading and bigger tires. I looking for a cost effective way of doing it with comprimising the good luck that I have had with this vehicle up to date.
