Which oil for a TRD supercharger?

When it comes to changing the supercharger's oil, the consensus on here is to use GM 12345982 supercharger oil rather than the overpriced oil from TRD.

I've also read several posts whereby people say things like ... "use Redline synthetic 5W30" ... "use Redline synthetic 75W90" ... "use any lightweight synthetic" ... however nobody definitively says that they use any of these in their own supercharger.

So, aside from the TRD oil and the GM 12345982 supercharger oil, is there an alternative product that will work equally well? The local GM dealer wants $24 for a 4oz bottle but can't get it to me until Friday so if I can get something from a parts store that costs less than $192/quart, then I would rather do that.

Just get the GM stuff, It is better to do it right the first time, will save you long term.

Because on Thursday I have to drive to Canada. I'd like to get it changed before that.

Is there only one dealership in the area? I would just call around - maybe find one that is on the way to Canada?

you can buy the mr2 sc oil kits, you'll need 2 kits and you get a nifty syringe since you will need that to remove the old oil. This is what I used. I belive they were 60-80 bucks a piece though.

What a lesson to be learned. Turns out GMC and Chevy dealers are NOT the same. The GMC dealer charges $24 for the bottle. The Chevy dealer charges $10 and it was in stock.
