Oil in spark plug cylinder

Went to do a compression test today and when I was removing the spark plug boots, #4 cylinder was covered in oil. Stuck the plug socket in and it was drenched, although it didn't appear to be any oil on the electrode side. What could be the cause of this? Bad valve cover gasket (namely the spark plug seals) or piston rings/ringlands?

I hope it's the valve cover gasket and not rings

I have a catch can sitting between the PCV and the intake manifold, and there hasn't been any excessive blowby. The compression test was 190 across all four cylinders (I have the 2.7L) so I'm leaning more towards v/c gasket than rings, but anyone have any other opinions?

it's definitely the valve cover's gromet (sp) or the gasket. Yeah 2.7L is very easy to replace that and it doesn't cost much!
