Oil change dilemma
Ok so i recently moved from NY to CA. Here is the dilemma. I thought the oil change capacity for a 98 4runner is 5.5 quarts. My dealer in Ny would change it and add 5 quarts. Out here in CA the dealer changed ut and added 6.3 quarts. when i asked why so much they told me the capacity was 6.25 quarts. I havent gotten a chance to check the dipstick on level ground yet. Who is correct?

Do a search for 3.4 oil capacity. It seems most people use 5.5 to 6 quarts. You need to check the dipstick ASAP. Running too much oil can be VERY bad for your engine.

Ditto, and I got 7 in there!

I put at least 6 in mine when I change it (filter and all).
