OH YEAH... New tires just came in
I'm stoked... my new Destination MT tires just arrived. 
As I type this they are finally getting paired up with the rims that have been sitting in y garage for the past 6 weeks! Here are a few preliminary photos... more on the way when they are mounted! WOO HOO!!

I was walking to Trader Joe's for lunch and stopped by the tire place on the way back. The rims are on the tires and they look AWESOME! They still have my truck up on the rack because I am having new Hawk Performance ceramic pads put on the front to compensate for the new weight. Should be done in about 90 minutes... I'll post more pics when I get it back.

So far the tires are awesome... slight rubbing on the stock running boards, but that will be taken care of soon. For now, I took the plastic that covers the front of the running boards off. It seems to have adequate room now. Looking into new boards tomorrow... hopefully Nerf style. The tires are INSANELY quiet! And the ride is super smooth. I know that will fade with time, but for now, it's great! My power doesn't seem noticeably less... that's a good sign. Brakes are tighter, but will get smoother as they are broken in. I'll keep you all posted and will take some pics when I wash my truck tomorrow.

the way you're modding your truck, i'd say you should get some sliders. demello is local and stubbs is in no cal (cheap shipping). both guys have great products, reptations on the forum, excellent customer service, and quite frankly, sliders would look a lot better on your 4runner than nerfs. not to mention, the cost difference is minimal but the ability to take any abuse is not even close!

looking good. i like the tire/rim combo. sharp. i agree with bob on the sliders and was going to recommend you getting them instead of nerfs as well.

Thanks for all of the input guys... as far as boards go, I'm just having the edges of my stock ones shaved off for now. It's a money issue. I'll post pics of what it looks like on Tuesday after it's done. So far, I've dumped thousands into my truck, and with a baby coming in roughly 3 weeks, I have been given the red light on truck upgrades. So for now, I will be in a holding pattern with the truck. Maybe some sliders for Xmas... who knows.
I like the way sliders look, and know that they function well off road. However, from checking around, the price is almost double to quadruple (depending on who they are from) compared to nerf style bars. I was quoted today from 4WP that there bars are $450 installed. While a shop near my house quoted me $330 installed for Smittybuilt. I decided that I would just modify what I have now... and decide what to do later in the year, after the baby has come. Anyone have a good connection on some cheap but good sliders that look like Nerf bars but are functional rock sliders? Web addresses would be good.
As for the tires / rims combo, here is where I got them. The tires are from Tire Rack. They have some of the best prices around... but not the best. They had the best price for the tires I wanted though. I paid $158/tire + shipping. WHole thing with brakes came out to just under $770. For the rims, I found a place in San Diego who had AWESOME prices and were great to work with. The company is Custom Wheels Direct in El Cajon, CA. The rims were like $785 with locking chrome lugs and shipping. They were cheaper than anyone else around. Also, this is the place that I could get the BFG M/T's for $145 each tire with $15 each tire shipping! That's why I posted the Firestones vs. Yokes vs. BFG thread. I was trying to decide based on the price. I went with my gut and bought the Firestones. So far so good. Quite as hell. Just a mild humming noise 1/3 of what my ProComps sounded like. And the ride is super comfortable.
I will be washing my car tomorrow after our morning baby appt. with the doc. When I am done, there will be a whole s-load of photos to check out. I will do the normal and post 3-5 on here, with many more on my site. Thanks again for all of the input and I will talk with you all tomorrow.

the reason the sliders cost more.......they're not gonna get damaged like nerfs will when the help you slide of a rock.....im sure you know that, but it justifies the cost.

Ask BFlooks about running boards on trails...haha. Rip off those running boards, follow Lee's example and stop acting like a girl!

OK, maybe a slight problem
I have been cutting, shaving and sanding all morning to get the tires to clear everything. So far so good with one exception. Just inside the wheel well on the backside of the front well, I only have maybe an inch AT BEST of clearance. This means if I hit a bump at the perfect angle, I have less than 1" of compression before it scrapes metal. I have cut up and rounded this out as best I can, but true body is still part of the issue. What can I do? I am thinking maybe a body lift, but I'm worried about my ride quality going down. Since I got the coil over suspension lift, my ride has improved from stock. I don't want to go backwards now but need to create space. Any suggestions?
