Oh NO, not another S/C QUESTION!

Ok heres the deal, I should be getting the Gen 1 S/C that ToyTech was selling, it is just the supercharger and fuel pressure regulator. So what all else do I need, like part numbers???? Im not going to put it on for a while, going to wait till I can get a tranny upgrade, and fuel system upgrade. But in the mean time im going to ebay and search for the parts needed for the charger. Thanks fellas

I know that for the 2nd gen S/C there is a parts kit from TRD that gives you everything except the blower itself....
I believe it's $400 part# 00602-17620-201

but I'm not sure if it'll work with the 1st gen...

Well, we are trying to get a group buy going for the Tranny upgrade. Keep an eye on the "another S/C is in!" thread that I started. Thats where most of the discussion is going on about that.

I'm sure others will fill in the blanks but things I suggest...
SeaFoam it (your going to be replacing the plugs anyway, why not!?
1 step cooler plugs (if your not getting the URD kit)
Cooler Thermostat
Tranny valve body upgrade
Tranny cooler
Put your deck plate back in

Theres a start...

Yea i have been following your thread, and others to learn what a good S/C needs. If i had the funds i would go ahead and get the valve body upgrade, and URD kit but.... Thats why im just got to get the S/C and let it chill in the garage for a while untill i can get all of the upgrades that it really "needs". Im just trying to get the basics (gaskets mounts ect...) to mount and attach the S/C so I can be on the look out for them if they happen to become avaliable while its waiting. The S/C will not be going on untill I get the others mods.

Why not call the dealer and ask the parts guy for the numbers?
They will have all of them on the CD and can order them for you on the spot.

Have you gone through the install instructions? There's a parts list in the back with part numbers:

http://www.customtacos.com/tech/inde...x_v2&id=45&c=5
(get the supplement as well)

In short, you'll need a couple of extra bolts, some vacuum tubing, one or two vacuum T's, the drive belt, the tensioner (if you're not getting it), the one-way valve for the bypass line, the "O" style TB gasket.. I think that's about it. There are surprisingly few parts involved.

Take note of what Austin pointed out as well, and be ready to spend some time/money to deal with the ping.

I dont have the install instructions, that why i asked the allmighty experts. Yea I have followed Austins and went back and read a few other threads about ping, thats why im not going to install the S/C untill I can get the URD Kit and Valve body upgrade.

That is the instructions for the 2nd gen not first, so i googled it and cant find one. Basically at this point i dont need the part numbers im just trying to get a rough estimate of how much the extra parts will cost. Im guessing about another $300 bucks, agree or disagree???

I know, but the split between the 1st and 2nd gen S/C is minimal in terms of what's needed to install it.

It's hard to say... if you don't count the tensioner, I'd say you're under $50. I've never seen JUST a tensioner for sale on eBay or through a private party, and I've never had the need to look up the retail price through a dealer. So, that's your big variable.

Out of the belt, gasket, bolt(s), tubing and T's, the most expensive thing will be the belt - figure $20 (I'm guessing a bit) retail through a dealer. The rest of it can be picked up for another $20.

Here are a few items and their part numbers (check costs from the dealer):
http://www.trdparts4u.com/Products/parts_list_600.html

Mark basically told you what you need to know...all you have to do is pick up the phone now to finish your estimate.
