OEM tires

I have a 2000 SR5 4x4 and i need new tires. I have those bridgestone dueler h/t 689's on right now and after reading reviews on them i figure i should get rid of them (anyone here ever run those tires?). i need something good in the snow, on highways and in the dirt- dont care to much about things like road noise. Any suggestions from the pro's?

Well . . .I'm not a pro, but I do live in the mountains where we get quite a bit of snow. I can recommend Michelin LTX MT or AT without hesitation. The MT's are particularly good all around tire. Great in the snow and good on the highway.

Hope this helps.

Have a look at BFG All-Terrain T/As.

I had a set of 245/75/16s on my 98 Limited and just put a set of 265/75/16s on my 03 Limited. The OEM Dunflops on the 03 were a joke. First flat at 450 kilometers.

BFG changed the tread and siping pattern, and the new tires are much quieter on the highway. I researched everthing available, but bought BFGs again.

Biggest selling point - the 3 ply sidewalls, and 8 ply tread rating. The 245s had 3/10 ratings.

Second biggest selling point - the 245s have 70-75K kilometers on them, and measure 50% tread remaining.

I like the goodyear wrangler series. I have Goodyear wrangler GSAs but i never hear too many people with them. i like the look of the tread.

the AT/S are a popular one

I had the RT/S and replaced them with these:

The RT/S was a nice looking pretty quiet tire, but was horrible in the rain. THey would break loose all the time and hydroplain bigtime. I didn't know how bad there were until I replaced them with the above Bridgetone "HL" tire. They are one of the only few SUV tires that offer a 60k treadwear warranty right now, and are rated the best for rain traction, etc. They also has the "Uni T" in them. It lets different rubber compounds expose as the tire wears down and won't loose grip as it gets older. Tire-rack has them for $106 each right now - They normally sell for $140 a piece in the stores!

I go into much more detail on these tires here with more PICS:

Best all season tire, pics and write-up

These tires will last twice as long as the stock tires, won't slip in the rain, and will cost you about the same $.
