I am putting a computer in my car for mp3/dvd/gps use. I hear I can also get obd readings as well. Anyone have experience with this and want to shed some light on how someone would go about doing this?

So it looks like I install the software and connect to the obd interface via a serial connection. I will already be using my only serial port on the pc but I can get an adapter to make it usb or just plug it in when I need to check the diagnostics.

I'm pretty sure they make serial to USB adapters so you should be fine that way.
Let's see some pics of the install when you do it!

Ill be sure to get pics together as I go. I have everything I need but I need to plan it out right and Im waiting for the weather to be consistent. 76 yesterday and 40 today. :pat:

You might also want to check out Autotap - a little bit more expensive at $199, but it has native USB support and has rave reviews.
